It's hard to always be alone, believing in myself while seeing such slow progress. I don't think people understand this part of being a creative or an artist. That you have to continuously believe in your work, in yourself. That you have to just keep going even when you don't feel immediate payoffs. Recently I've been using "creative affirmations" since I was introduced to the idea of them in the Artist's Way, and have found them super useful, and I think you will too.  Even though affirmations might sound a little woo-woo they are simply phrases that are said as "truths" to oneself. The concept is extremely simple, yet in practise they can be pretty impactful. Affirmations have helped me build creative and overall confidence, positive habits and mindset, to make art decisions, get creating, stay true to myself, remind myself of what I really want and my ability to reach my goals.  I suppose...

There’s some things that can absolutely help with creativity, and there’s some things which you might think you need, but in reality, you really don't. 

These poems are a personal ode to Spring, and the sun, inspired by winters in England and The Netherlands.
